Care N’ Care Health Plan Expands Into Cooke, Erath, Palo Pinto and Somervell Counties

HMO and PPO Health Plan Now Offered to Medicare Eligible Recipients in 13 Counties Throughout North Texas

(FORT WORTH, Texas – Nov. 26, 2019) — Care N’ Care Health Plan announced today that it will be adding Cooke, Erath, Palo Pinto and Somervell counties into its coverage area for 2020 Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO offerings. With this expansion, Care N’ Care will now be providing benefits to Medicare-eligible recipients in 13 counties in North Texas as the new counties join the health plan’s already existing presence in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Hood, Johnson, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise.

“Healthcare is one of the most personal and important decisions anyone can make, and our expansion into these new counties means that more seniors throughout North Texas have greater choice in finding a plan that matches their wants and needs,” said Care N’ Care Chief Executive Officer Wendy Krasten. “The benefits we offer are driven by what our members tell us is most important to them. We are excited to bring these benefits and our exceptional network of doctors and hospitals to residents of Cooke, Erath, Palo Pinto and Somervell; and we look forward to welcoming residents of those counties into the Care N’ Care family.”

Since its founding in 2008, Care N’ Care has continued to be a market leader in North Texas, expanding its provider network and offering an array of services and benefits that improve and simplify Medicare coverage. It’s 2020 benefits will include $0 premiums, $0 co-pays and $0 deductibles on medical and drug coverage for Medicare-eligible recipients and a new over-the-counter drug benefit as well as preventive dental, vision and hearing benefits at no additional cost in all of its HMO and PPO offerings.

Also included with a Care N’ Care membership is enrollment in SilverSneakers®, a program that encompasses membership in thousands of fitness locations, group exercise classes, on-demand online workout videos, social connections throughout the year and much more. Additionally, seniors who choose Care N’ Care can avail themselves of the health plan’s acclaimed Customer Experience Team program. Through this members are assigned a personal Customer Experience Team to serve as the single point of contact to help facilitate their healthcare needs, such as scheduling appointments, help with claims or billing, answering questions regarding prescriptions, and more.

Last month Care N’ Care announced that its PPO products had received a four-star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The star-rating system provides an overall snapshot of a plan’s quality and performance as it relates to medical care, member experience and plan administration. The star-rating system has been hailed as a valuable tool to help educate consumers on quality and to make quality data more transparent and comparable between plans.

The annual enrollment period for choosing a Medicare Advantage plan for 2020 runs through Dec. 7. During this time seniors and others on Medicare may choose to switch their health plan or move from original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan (or move back to original Medicare) with their new coverage taking effect Jan. 1, 2020.
