(FORT WORTH, Texas – April 30, 2018) — Employees from Care N’ Care Health Plan joined together recently with the Richland Hills Professional Firefighters Local 4930 to paint and make minor repairs of three homes owned by seniors in Richland Hills. This annual undertaking was part of the 6 Stones Community-Powered Revitalization project of which Care N’ Care is a sponsor.

6 Stones is a local nonprofit coalition of individuals and businesses who have come together to meet the social, health and educational needs of the community. Through the Community-Powered Revitalization project, various businesses, community volunteers and organizations help homeowners make necessary home repairs.

In keeping with the spirit of the day, Care N’ Care also made a donation of $5,000 to 6  Stones. A portion of that – $2,050 – was the result of Care N’ Care pledging $25 to the organization for every Care N’ Care member who had her 2017 mammogram as part of an end-of-year reminder outreach.

“Volunteerism and the spirit of giving is engrained in the culture of America and certainty in the ideals of all Texans,” said Wendy Karsten, chief executive officer of Care N’ Care. “6 Stones is an incredible organization, and we’re proud to play our part in helping to make our community a better place to live.” Toward that end, Karsten announced that in October Care N’ Care employees and volunteers will be assisting with repairs of a home in Everman as part of 6 Stones CPR project.
