North Texas in Celebration of National Doctors Day March 30

(FORT WORTH, Texas – March 26, 2019) — National Doctors Day is celebrated each year to recognize physicians for their work and contributions to society and the community. In honor of this day, Care N’ Care Health Plan is asking everyone to pause and say “thank you” for the important role physicians play in helping to maintain the health and wellness of North Texas residents.

The first Doctors Day was observed on March 30, 1933. It wasn’t until 1991 that March 30 was officially proclaimed National Doctors Day by President George H. W. Bush. In his proclamation, President Bush said, “More than the application of science and technology, medicine is a special calling; and those who have chosen this vocation in order to serve their fellowman understand the tremendous responsibility it entails.”
