2022 GLBA State Privacy Notice

Care N’ Care understands that our members expect privacy and security regarding all of their personal and financial information. We’re committed to protecting the privacy and security of your information. It’s important to explain how we collect, use, secure, and share your personal information. We define personal information as information that identifies you that we obtained from you and other sources to provide you with health insurance products and services. We’ll always inform you of our policies for collecting, using, securing, and sharing non-public personal financial information the first time we do business with you and every year that you are our member.

Information collection process:

We receive most personal information from you when you enroll in Care N’ Care. This comes from the forms you fill out, from telephone or person-to-person interviews with you, or from your agent. The personal information collected includes your name, address, Social Security number, health, and financial information. We also obtain personal information through claims documents, payment history and other records available to us to determine which products and services are appropriate for you. We may also receive personal information about you from our affiliates and other companies.

Sharing information:

We only share information that we are allowed to share by law. We may share your information with our affiliates and companies we do business with, even if you are no longer our member. For example, we may share your information with persons such as your agent or companies who perform marketing or other services for us related to the products and services we provide you. We may also share your information with other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements to provide our products and services.

Protecting Care N’ Care member information:

We keep your information safe and secure so unauthorized individuals do not have access to it. Only our employees, who need to know about your information to provide our products and services to you, have access to your information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with legal requirements to protect your information. Care N’ Care and its affiliates are committed to protecting the information you provide to us over the phone, in person, through the mail, or via e-mail. We respect the privacy of all individuals who visit our website.

Online information:

Like many companies today, Care N’ Care routinely gathers data on website usage, such as how many people visit our website, the sections they visit, what time they visit, how long they stay, etc. Site visitor data is collected on an aggregate, anonymous basis; no personal information is associated with this data unless you voluntarily provide it. We collect and store the following information: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, yahoo.com if you’re connecting from a Yahoo account); the browser version from which you access our site; the date and time you access our site; and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site. We use this information to measure the number of visitors to different sections of our site, to identify trends and understand user patterns to help us continually improve your online experience. We realize the importance of protecting children’s privacy, especially in an Internet environment. It is our policy never to knowingly collect or maintain information from children via the Internet. We also do not collect information for distribution to third parties via your visit to our website.

Online surveys and forms:

You may have an opportunity to provide information to us through online surveys and forms. We use this information to better understand health care needs and to provide quality products, service and other opportunities. All forms and surveys located on the Care N’ Care website are secure.

Care N’ Care wants your visit to our website to be informative and enjoyable. We plan to use any information we obtain from you to help us continually improve the content, functionality and overall usability of our website.

Sending information by e-mail:

WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION TRANSMITTED TO US BY E-MAIL. Please use your own best judgment when sending information via the Internet to an e-mail address. E-mail sent via the Internet may pass through private and public networks with varying levels of security. Some networks may have taken steps to maintain the security of e-mail transmissions while others have not, thereby compromising the privacy and integrity of your e-mail. An e-mail may be copied, altered or destroyed by anyone who is able to access it. If you have personal or confidential information to relay to our company, please call the appropriate customer service phone number; details appear on the contact us page. If you send us an e-mail to ask a question, we’ll use the information you provide to answer your request. If you do provide personal information, such as an e-mail address, telephone or fax number, or other identifying information, we won’t disclose it to third parties except as noted here in this privacy notice. We’ll preserve the content of your e-mail, your e-mail address, and our response, so we can efficiently respond to your questions and to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

We recognize and respect the desire for privacy when it comes to your personal and healthcare affairs. We protect online information according to established company security standards and practices and we continually evaluate new technologies for safeguarding information. Evolving technology will continue to provide us with new and better ways to collect and use information so we may better serve your health coverage needs. We may revise or update this notice in the future to reflect these technological advances and we encourage you to return to this page periodically for updates.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Transportation: Every once in a while seniors need a little assistance getting to medical appointments, social or cultural events, worship services, hairdresser or barbers, grocery stores and running errands. There are organizations in our community to assist seniors with these needs. Many seniors need assistance with errands such as grocery shopping, clothing and gift shopping, or picking up prescriptions.

    Social Programs: Staying active in retirement is easy. With the senior social programs, there is always something fun and exciting going on in the area. Help host an outing or just attend. Active seniors will have the opportunity to attend outings such as going to lunch, attending fitness classes, cultural events, and entertainment or going to shopping destinations. There’s no one-size-fits all, there are a variety of activities available. Once a week, once a month, first Tuesday of the month whichever the case may be, we love social and like-minded gatherings. From a men’s breakfast group, to lunch bunches, book clubs, coffee groups, happy hours and small group studies there is an opportunity for everyone. Making new friends and escaping the isolation from home is always a treat.

    Convenience Task & Handyman Services: Assistance with light yard work, minor household organization and cleaning, pet care, plant care, minor household chores such as hard to reach light bulbs, hang pictures, check smoke alarms, moving outdoor furniture, and simple repairs. Neighbors helping neighbors at home. For home repairs that require a little more work or a skilled tradesman, Care N’ Community can refer seniors to organizations that have pre-screened vendors.

    Our Partners

    YMCA logo

    Care N’ Community has partnered with several Tarrant County YMCAs to jointly offer a host of weekly programs designed to increase independence, reduce isolation and encourage healthy living of local-area seniors.

    The programs – open to all seniors in the area – vary greatly from week to week, depending on the needs and wants of the participants. Some programs stress physical activity, such as water aerobics; some are strictly social, such as adult coloring classes or organized breakfast and lunch groups; and some are educational, such as safety tips from local police or healthcare tips from local doctors and nurses.

    Currently, Care N’ Community offers programming at the following YMCA locations:

    • Airport Area YMCA
    • Benbrook YMCA
    • Northwest YMCA
    • Westside YMCA
